Portrait-course – Sunderby Folkhögskola

11 Oct

I was fortunate to be able to attend a course in portrait photography at the Sunderby Folkhögskola which had the course due to their 50th anniversary.

The tutor was Henny, a teacher with several years of experience in both photography and other artistic genres.

The first day was basically standing model for each other (group of ten) and learning the basic lighting setups with one continuous light.

Example for that  are open, closed, Rembrandt, side lighting and straight ahead.

During the afternoon we were asked to document some of the other activities that were going on during the anniversary such as painting, woodwork and so on.

The next day was filled with a personal project which was that we got a name of a celebrity for instance which we should depict with a fellow student being the model and the accessories that were at the school.

My project was to show the king of Sweden, Karl Gustav as you can see below and I was asked to take a photo of “Bruce Willis”.
