Photographer of the day: Neil Crighton

Based in northern Sweden I met him when one of the nurses on our healthcare centre asked: “Andreas, aren’t you interested in photography? Did you know that a photographer from the UK has moved to Boliden?”

From there on it started with an email and an invitation to dinner at Neil’s and Julia’s house.

They moved to Boliden because of love to nature, the freedom and many more reasons. During his many years of photographic work Neil has worked at hospitals, technical photography, portraiture and so on.

What is so special about him? curiosity and a never-ending energy and passion towards photography. He always has new ideas and projects that together with a winning personality just gets things going.

They started a school for photography and a gallery in the old church building in Boliden and give young and older photographers possibility to meet, exchange knowledge, become friends and develop in photography.

Latest project is his book about landscape photography I mentioned earlier in the blog.
