Exercise: Implied lines

31 Aug

Implied lines, lines that are not there but build inside the spectators mind or by having points connected or by a pattern.

The first picture in the course material shows a torero fighting with a bull in close vicinity. There are the line created by the direction of the bull charging and there is as well a curve in the sand showing which way the next charge will go,  round and round as in the dance Paso doble, depicting a torero with his red cloth.

The second picture shows a farmer on the right and horses on the left hand side. The farmer is looking towards the horse heads, first line and the horses are turning and looking towards the right side, that’s another line. As the horse heads are contrasty against the sky and very big in comparison to the farmers their implied line is dominant. The line created by the bull is not that strong in my eyes.

Below are some pictures I have taken. Some older and some from this course.
