Shutter speeds

8 Jul

The objective of this exercise is to take picture of moving objects at different shutter speeds.

In that exercise i chose the local go-cart-track wher i shot at speeds from 1/15 to 1/4000 of a second.

I think that the speed where everything seems to be frozen is between 1/2000 and 1/4000. That is surely because of the high speed the cart has.

When looking att earlier shots i took with e.g. horses speeds at about 1/250-1/500 were needed depending on the gait the horse was riding.

Conclusions:
In order to get sharp images it is needed to have a certain speed or faster in order to freeze the content. On the other hand slower speeds might give an artistic touch to the picture like e.g. a waterfall or like in the first two picture to give an impression of speed.
